Dr. Fernando Iñón Auditorium
Fernando Alberto Iñón was Jenck's Technical Director and, for close to thirty years, a central figure at the company. He held a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Buenos Aires and was an assistant professor of Analytical Chemistry and Instrumental Analysis there. He died in September 2026.
The auditorium bears his name because this is where he did what he did best. He was the most constant instructor in Jenck's training program: between 2018 and 2026 alone he taught 78 courses and seminars, more than anyone else. Thousands of chemists and laboratory technicians from across Argentina came through this room to learn chromatography, mass spectrometry and infrared. He treated knowledge as something to be shared.
Career
- 2001 Earned his doctorate with a thesis on modelling dispersion in flow injection analysis, supervised by Mabel B. Tudino at the Trace Analysis Laboratory.
- 1999–2008 Twenty-two published papers on flow injection analysis, infrared spectroscopy and chemometrics.
- 2008–2016 Head of Jenck's Training and Applications department, and later of Research and Development too.
- 2009–2023 Represented Jenck at the Argentine Analytical Chemistry Congress. In 2013 he taught the pre-conference course in Mendoza to an audience of more than a hundred.
- 2017–2026 Technical Director of Jenck. Taught courses in this auditorium until April 2026.
The room
The auditorium is at Jenck's offices, Av. Álvarez Thomas 228, inside the building the company opened in 2004 alongside its applications laboratory.
It hosts the training program's courses, technology seminars, instrument presentations with the equipment running in the room, and events with universities and public bodies. The schedule is published at jenck.com/capacitacion.
